Just thought I'd give you an outdoorsy picture to get you into the mood for this post. Cause I'm warning you now: I want your advice. So start thinking campfires and Kumbaya...
In my ward, I just got called to be an assistant camp specialist for Girl's Camp this year! Woohoo! I am seriously so excited. We had our first meeting on Sunday and we decided to break up the main areas of focus between the three of us (the camp director, and another assistant). The areas were skits, decorating and food. Guess which one I want to do?
Food!
I want to do it, but truth be told, I'm kind of really nervous. I mean, I've never cooked so many meals for such a large group of people (probably around 30 people). Not to mention, we need to include alternate ways of cooking (i.e. using the fire). So, while most of the cooking will be done on a Camp Chef stove, I will need to be a little more creative for some of the meals.
Anyhow...this is where you come in. For the life of me, the only food I can remember eating at my girl's camp is Hawaiian Haystacks. I know we ate some really delicious stuff...but I can't think of it!
So...what were your favorite Girl's Camp meals? And if you've never attended Girl's Camp, what are your favorite camping cuisines?
I'm just trying to brainstorm as many ideas as possible before I commit to this crazy task.
